HTC Desire 610

HTC Desire 610

Fantastic midrange handset.

Set to replace the popular HTC Desire 601, the HTC Desire 610 is one of HTC’s latest midrange cellphones. With great specs and a competitive price tag, the HTC Desire 610 is in competition with the Xperia M2 from Sony and Google’s 2013 Nexus 5.

In terms of design, the HTC Desire 610 takes a lot its inspiration from the HTC Desire 816. The cellphone has a minimalist design and is available in 6 great shades: coral, green, gray, blue, white and black. Despite being made from plastic like other phones in the Desire family, the 610 has a premium feel thanks to the glass display and strong build. Unlike the 816, the Desire 610 has a smaller 4.7-inch screen which offers the perfect balance between comfort and display size. While the cellphone’s 234ppi pixel density lags behind some its competitors, the display is great to watch videos on, especially with the Desire 610’s awesome dual front-facing speakers!

The HTC Desire 610 features a powerful Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM to enable effortless multitasking and performance. The HTC Desire 610 comes with 6GB of onboard memory for storing all your apps, games and files. However, as this will not be enough space for everyone, the phone has a microSD slot which allows you to add up to 128GB of additional storage. If you want to take advantage of super-fast web browsing, you will be pleased to know that the HTC Desire 610 has 4G LTE. In addition, the cellphone has Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC for wireless connectivity.

The Desire 610 has a 2,040mAh battery which is similar to most other phones in its class. This will give you enough power to get through the day. However, if you need your phone to last longer you can activate either the power saver mode or the extreme power saver mode.

On the back of the cellphone you will find a respectable 8MP camera which is great for taking everyday photos. In terms of quality, it is on the same level as the Nexus 5’s camera. This is certainly not a bad thing! The HTC Desire 610 also has a 1.2MP camera on the front of the phone which is great for video calls and selfies. The cellphone has a great gallery application which allows you to create a video highlight: a short montage of pictures and videos timed to music. In addition, should you find that you are running low on power, you can simply activate the Extreme Power Saving mode which turns off all but the necessary functions and can give you up to an extra day of power.

As mentioned in the introduction, one of the major attractions of the HTC Desire 816 is its awesome photography capabilities. The HTC One V is a smartphone designed and manufactured by HTC as part of the HTC One series which runs Android 4.0.3 with an HTC Sense 4.0 overlay. This phone is constructed from an aluminum unibody. Its design resembles the HTC Legend released in 2010. The HTC One V has received relatively positive reviews from various prominent technology sites. Mat Smith from Engadget shared similar opinions, but his main criticism was given to the phone’s lower-end Qualcomm processor. Nevertheless he lauded the rest of the device citing it as an inexpensive phone that could handle almost all day to day tasks.

One S

HTC One S

Simply stunning.

The One S is 0.31 inches (7.9 mm) at its thinnest point. The phone uses an aluminum unibody shell, with two finishes available – a black micro arc oxidized finish, and a light-blue to dark-blue gradient anodized finish (currently the only finish available through T-Mobile USA). HTC states that the micro arc oxidized finish makes the body five times stronger than the bare aluminium,[5] although some users claim that the finish chips easily. The phone has a power/lock button and a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top, a volume rocker on the upper right side, and a MHL/Micro USB port on the upper left. Three capacitive buttons (back, home, and task switcher) are located on the front of the phone, below the display. There are two speakers, one on the front (serving as the earpiece) and one on the back. A two-color (amber and green) notification LED sits under the earpiece grille. The top piece of plastic on the back is removable and is where the phone accepts a micro-SIM card.
