Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

2014’s most innovative design

This newer Samsung Galaxy model was recently unveiled and its unique features are indeed something to behold. While many analysts feel that the Note Edge shares many characteristics in common with the Note 4, there are also several improvements which need to be fully appreciated. Above all, the use of what is known as OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology has enabled the Note Edge to offer a physical flexibility that is ideal for on-the-go users. Why is this screen so notable?

The first aspect observed is that the display provides no less than five hundred and twenty-four pixels per inch; an impressive density that will offer extremely high resolution. Although this is quite respectable, this model pushes the boundaries even further with a curved side screen. It is important to note that this is an entirely independent display as opposed to a mere continuation of the main screen. The primary benefit is that the phone can still be controlled with this one-inch screen even when the larger portion is in sleep mode.

Besides this novel addition, the Note is quite easy to handle (although the right-hand screen strip may make it tricky to operate for left-handed users). As with other Samsung models, the Edge is lightweight and quite thin; transport is easy. Alongside this physical functionality are front- and rear-facing cameras which both provide a resolution of 3.7 megapixels.

Still, the Galaxy Note Edge shares several features in common with the previous model. An octa-core Exynos 5433 processor of 1.3 gigahertz offers an appreciable amount of memory while a microSD card is able to supply an extra sixty-four gigabytes of RAM. While there are some seasoned users who feel that this capacity could have been increased, it is often cited that less internal memory will extend the battery life and help to prevent inconvenient system crashes. This is perhaps the reason that Samsung chose to keep the same Android specifications as the Galaxy Note 4.

Overall, the most striking quality of the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is its revolutionary screen design. Some are wondering if future applications may enable this model to be handled easier by left-handed users; we will see if such software becomes available. Combining a slim design, a nominal amount of memory and what can only be called a state-of-the art display, the Note Edge may very well be one of the top trendsetters for the remainder of 2014.
