Sony Xperia M2

Sony Xperia M2

Good-looking mid-ranger.

Released summer 2014, the Sony Xperia M2 is the follow-up to 2013’s popular Xperia M. Aimed at the mid-range section of the cellphone market and packed full of features, the Xperia M2 has a lot to get excited about!

In terms of design, the M2 has a lot of similarities with the early-2014 flagship, the Sony Xperia Z2. The M2 has a sophisticated design with flat panels on the front and rear of the device. However, in order to offer the cellphone at a lower price point, the M2 does not use the same premium materials as the Z2. While the front of the phone is covered by glass, the back panels is coated with a slim layer of clear plastic which gives the impression of glass.

The cellphone sports a 4.8 inch screen which is big enough for watching videos and playing games on, but not Sony Xperia Z Ultra large! In addition, this size screen prevents the phone from becoming cumbersome and difficult to operate single-handed. The display has a qHD resolution which takes advantage of the display technologies that feature in Sony’s Bravia television range.

The M2 has an 8MP primary camera which uses the same Exmor RS technology found in Sony’s lineup of cameras. Exmor RS allows the M2’s camera to perform well in poorly lit conditions by minimizing noise and improving clarity. The M2 also has HDR which allows you to capture clear photos and video footage when there is a strong backlight. In addition, the camera application has a number of creative filters and easy sharing functions.

Although the M2 is a mid-range device, it has great performance. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 1.2 GHz quad-core processor that is backed up with 1GB of RAM which delivers effortless processing without comprising your battery. This is because the quad-core processor is asynchronous which means that it can deliver just the right amount of power needed to perform a task.

One of the most praised features of the Xperia M2 is its great battery life. The phone has a capacious 2,3000mAh battery which can provide enough power to get you through at least a full day and perhaps even longer if you only lightly use the phone. In addition, the Sony Xperia M2 has a Stamina Mode which can dramatically extend your battery life by shutting off all unnecessary processes when the display is turned off.
